Candles blow them out if you are leaving the room. Candles and curtains can be lethal. Charge your phone/tablets screen side down. Buy chargers with the CE mark for safety standards. Don't overload the sockets. Turn off the kettle,washing machine,etc when not in use. Chip pans-use a fireblanket [not water] to choke the fire. Test your smoke alarm every week. This is really important. Have two alarms at least per house. If your smoke alarm is cheeping....you need to replace the batteries. Set up a fire drill and practise it.Keep toys off the stairs. Have a plan. Stay out and get the fire brigade out. 999 emergency services 112 emergency services 5th & 6th class participated in a two-day BizWorld workshop, delivered by Leanne from Bank of Ireland in Oldcastle.During the workshop, the children were split into groups and each group developed their own mini enterprise. At the end of the workshop, they got to pitch their business ideas to visiting ‘Dragons’, from Bank of Ireland.
The 'dragons' and teachers were very impressed with the new business ideas that each group came up with. Well done!! Please note: As part of Oldcastle Enterprise Town, the children from 5th & 6th class are invited to deliver their presentation to the community. This event is on Friday 26th of May(3pm- 7pm) and Saturday 27th of May (10am-2pm) in the show hall beside the GAA pitch. |
