We are the boys teams representing our school in badminton

On March the 1st some of my classmates and I went to Dublin to play in a Badminton tournament.
We left the school at quarter to eight that morning.I sat beside my friend Diarmuid Lee on the bus and we had great fun.
When we arrived in Baldoyle we were the first there and had the whole 8 courts to ourselves. We then got togged out and were ready to play.Karl and I played first but we weren`t ready for what hit us.We thought we were good and we are but compared to these teams we looked out of place.
We played Saint Anne`s of Dublin and played well but lost by four.Diarmuid and Killian played after and they put up a good fight but lost to Saint Anne`s 2nd team.We then played ST.Oliver Plunketts and Karl and I actually won by a point (it turned out to be the only game any of us won) Karl played phenomenal and I was OK too.
We then got dinner and played our last game.Talk about saving the best until last we got absolutely battered by a strong Balinteer force from Cork.I found out that they left their school at 5.30a.m. that morning!
Killian and Diarmuid didn't fair much better against Balinteer either. We arrived home at 5.30 that evening.
A big thanks to Ms.Finnegan for training us and getting us ready for the day.
I really enjoyed it and hopefully we will go again next year and might win more than just 1 game.

Hi I'm Claudia Baranauskaite and
I'm Caoimhe Mc Enerney
On the 1st of march our team of four girls and four boys travelled to Baldoyle in Dublin, to compete in the all Ireland Badminton tournament. We had to arrive at school before 7:30.We travelled for around two hours and got to Baldoyle badminton centre at around 9:30.We were put into groups of two. We were the fisrt ones there and when we went in we put our bags up on the stands and went down to practice on the courts. After about 5 minutes other schools started to arrive. There were alot of schools competing and some were brilliant. We then had to free up our courts to let the other schools practice too. When we finished we played 4 matches per pair.It was very hard and we didn't win any matches but at least we tried , that's what matters most.We learned a new skill and can only improve on it.The boys won one of the matches .The highest points we got were 19-20.We had intervals between each match. One of the teams we played were St.Bridgids.N.S.We were also the very first team from Ulster to compete. We kind of went down in history! and... WE WOULD REALLY LIKE TO THANK MISS FINNEGAN for teaching us all about badminton and for bringing us to Baldoyle to our first ever badminton tournment. It was so fun. Thank you!
